Evaluation Of The Core Competitiveness Of Higher Education

With the globalization of the economy and technology, universities, now developing in the whole world, are required more to gain excellent sources in the world market. Only universities have the abilities to develop continually can they have the opportunities to succeed. However, there are still many problems requiring to be settled, such as what is the core competitiveness of the higher education and how to recognize it. This dissertation systematically analyzes and evaluates the core competitiveness of the higher education and proposed some countermeasures.Based on the theories of the evaluation of higher education, competitiveness and core competitiveness, the dissertation analyzes connotation and characteristics of the core competitiveness of the higher education. Six factors are pointed out to be the factors that influence the core competitiveness of the higher education from the view of the system. Then the dissertation expatiates the connotation of these factors and analyzes the relationship of them deeply and roundly.The dissertation, taking appraising indices systems put forward by local and foreign authorities, designs the appraising indices system of the core competitiveness of higher education, based both on the appraising principles and on the six factors introduced before. Using the Principal Components Analysis, the dissertation draw the conclusion that Subject is the factor that should be paid more attention during the process of improving the core competitiveness of the higher education. For the sake of acclimatizing themselves to market, higher education should conjunct these factors analyzed before and establish untouchable core competitiveness.After qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis, the dissertation proposes some countermeasures to improve the core competitiveness of the higher education.
