Core Competitiveness Of Local Normal Universities

With the sustaining development of economic globalization, the development trend of higher education is more rapid and efficient way of resource allocation so as to form the core competitiveness of value optimization and multiple functions. The traditional way of education of local normal universities is not able to meet the needs of society now, especially for high quality of teachers. Nowadays, Chinese local normal universities experienced a fierce competition during the course of development; meanwhile, they have to face the shock of higher education reform, multiple economic patterns and other culture and social factors. So the situation is very urgent, and the study on how to improve the core competitiveness of local normal university is very important and meaningful.Competition among higher education institutions is a pattern when the higher education institutions developed to a high grade in the environment of market economy. Actually, the competitiveness of the higher education institution is a kind of institution competitiveness, just like the enterprise competitiveness. However, the competition among higher education institutions has its special manner and traits due to the rules of its self development, which combined the talent cultivation, scientific research and public service. As a historical outcome, competition between higher education institutions has accumulated abundant practical information, which elevated it into a level of theory and provided the bases of the efficient competition, which becomes a hot spot of current study in higher education.On account of the background, the study investigated the essential attributes of the core competitiveness of the higher education institution, and explained the significance and concrete strategy of constructing the core competitiveness of local normal university by combining the reform of local normal university and core competitiveness construction of higher education institution and applying the philosophy of competition, learning organization and knowledge management to the construction of core competitiveness of local normal university. The article contains 5 parts as follows:Firstly, the paper revealed the theoretic and practical significance of the study by introducing the study background and the study status. Secondly, try to extract the concept and key features of the core competitiveness of higher education institutions and local normal university, as well as the structural factors of the core competitiveness of the local normal university. Thirdly, as to assessing the core competitiveness of the local normal university, we explained the principle of setting the index system, constructed the index system for it and gave the approach to assess it. Fourthly, the paper gave an introduction to how to build the competitiveness of the local normal university. Finally, taking the Shengyang Normal University as an example, the paper analyzed its current core competitiveness and how to cultivate and improve its core competitiveness.
