With the increasingly fierce competition in the higher education, the highereducation reform is imperative. And this tendency will be more and more pressing, due tothe continuously extending of higher education scale. Within this pressure, the mostimportant problem is how to keep continuously development along with educationreform and achieving continuously breakthrough along with competition. To solve suchproblem, the key point is wholly lifting the competitiveness of higher education itself.And to lift the competitiveness, higher vocational colleges will meet lots of aspects, suchas level of running a college, personnel training mode and the capability of scientificresearch. Within all these aspects, building up the ranks of teachers is the key one.Because teachers are the main part in college. They will play the vital roll in all theaspects, which are mentioned previously. As the backbone of national higher colleges,Qinhuangdao Institute of Technology attaches importance to building up the ranks ofteachers at the very beginning of college setting-up, and makes continuouslydevelopment in process.The teachers’ core competitiveness formation is a complex process. Its has the figureof integrity, and stable internal structure. Base on the display form, its structure can bedivided into spirit factor, knowledge factor, substance factor and behavior factor. And allof these factors will influence each other, and finally decide the developing of teachers’core competitiveness. After the analysis of the current status of Qinhuangdao Institute ofTechnology,we can find the diversity of influence factors. These factors are from boththe internal and external of our college. All these different factors work on the teachers’core competitiveness formation and development, in different level.Here on the background of developing teachers’ core competitiveness, guided by thecore competitiveness theory, this article will deeply discuss the base structure andelements of teachers’ core competitiveness of higher vocational colleges, combing withthe concept analysis. At the same time, base on the current situation of QinhuangdaoInstitute of Technology, this article will raise up tactics of developing the competitiveness, to give some help on the theoretical research and practice.
