To improve students' quality in an all-round way and develop the innovative talent, has become the theme in Chinese education. Physics education, one of the main positions to realize quality-oriented education, is a subject based on observation and experiment, which is the first step of physics study. So the observation ability in physics becomes a basic one among all cognitive abilities, and a main way in which the students obtain the information. It is also the beginning of physics thinking and the basis to realize the quality-oriented education. Physics curriculum standard (test draft, 2001) for the full-time compulsory education pointed out explicitly "The students should go through the process of observing the physical phenomenon, and be able to describe the main characteristics of the physical phenomenon observed briefly. Everyone should possess preliminary observation ability. "In the meanwhile, it also suggested that "we recommend pluralistic teaching, and we encourage permeating the information technology in physics teaching." In the compulsory module and the selective module of physics curriculum standard (test draft, 2003) for the full-time ordinary high school, there are more than 40 physical phenomena, physical instruments, the daily electric apparatuses, etc, which emphasize observation.Therefore, how to develop the students' observation ability in physics teaching under the combination model of modern educational technology and physics education is a question that the reform of physics course must be faced with. Through the theoretical research on MCAI and the observation ability in physics, the paper aims at seeking the amalgamation of the two, and exploring the cultivation principles, tactics, and appraisement method of the observation ability in physics based on MCAI.In the part of theory survey, based on the predecessors' results on the observation ability in physics, the paper expatiates on the following questions, such as the definition of physical observation and the observation ability in physics, and the composition of the observation ability in physics, as well as its influencing factors, and quality besides. The importance of developing the students' observation ability in physics in middle school physics teaching is also analyzed in this section. Through theABSTRACTresearch on the foundation of MCAI, the author summarizes the influence that MCAI has brought on modern physics education.Is it possible to permeate the development of the observation ability hi physics in MCAI? What is the basic principle of developing the ability in MCAI? These are the principal questions we must reply to. By analyzing the structure of human brain, the learning theory of constructivism, audio-visual law of the students, and the characteristics of MCAI, the paper demonstrates the feasibility that MCAI promotes the observation ability in physics from the physiological and psychological angles. As a kind of special ability, the observation ability in physics has both attribute of general ability and its own characteristics. Therefore, according to the principles of the development of general ability, and the nature of physics and the features of MCAI, the paper puts forward eight principles about development of the observation ability in physics based on MCAI. Furthermore, some suggestions about how to design the MCAI courseware to promote the observation ability in physics are also given in this section.How to permeate development of the observation ability in physics hi MCAI and how to appraise the effect of the development of this ability? This is the core of the paper. In the light of the basic principles of the development of the ability, the author probes into the tactics of developing students' observation ability in physics based on MCAI. Considering the practical application of MCAI hi middle school physics teaching, the author also comes up with three kinds of teaching program involving the development of the observation ability in physics in MCAI.
