To make clear the factors affect Gansu senior high school education and find out what factors caused the differences between modeled senior high school and non-modeled senior high school, this research was designed to investigate the different aspects of the development of sample schools.The development of senior high school education put a solid condition to the whole basic education. Compare with the senior high school development in developed areas in other provinces, however, the senior high school education in Gansu province becoming a choke point. There are many problems to be solved in the process of the development of senior high school education. For example, exam-oriented education is attached a high importance and quality-oriented education has not get its real development. The examination score is becoming the most important criterion of teaching and learning achievement. The situation of selecting school by students and their parents has becoming more and more curious and the charge for selecting school is going up yearly. All the problems in senior high school education in the urban area of Gansu province put a hard task before governor, handler, teachers and school authorities. The conditions of schools are far from quality-oriented education and, to develop the education, these problems have to be solved.There are many unbalances between different senior high schools and different areas in Gansu province. These differences represented on the differences between modeled senior high schools and non-modeled senior high schools. This thesis is going to discuss a research on the differences between the two kinds of high schools such as school-running action, developing process and the results, aiming at finding out the basic reason what lead these differences and give some feasible advice to these problems in order to minimize the gaps between modeled senior high schools and non-modeled senior high schools.In this research, we selected 29 senior high schools as swatches. The research focused on the students supply, enrollment system, the conditions of school-selecting students, teachers' standard, teaching mode, management pattern, education outlay, school conditions, education thought, outcome and development potential, then analysis the reason caused the differences between modeled senior high schools and non-modeled senior high schools, to get some practicable advices. In the process of selecting swatches, we have put special attention to the proportion for the two kinds of schools. Questionnaire is widely used in this research to gather data and related information, and then interviews are adopted to certify the information got from the questionnaires.This thesis is composed of three parts below:Part One --Pandect and research design;Part Two --The achievement of Gansu senior high school education;Part Three --Analysis on the data and information;Part Four--Conclusions and advices.
