With the advancement of the new curriculum reform and the increase of the proportion of the examination of the whole book in the college entrance examination,the whole book reading has been paid more and more attention by the front-line teachers.In January 2018,the Ministry of Education issued the Chinese Curriculum Standards for Ordinary Senior High School(2017 Edition),which put forward the task group of "Whole Book Reading and Discussion",and for the first time,the whole book reading entered the Chinese curriculum content as a course.Reading the whole book plays an extremely important and far-reaching role in improving students' reading ability and improving their Chinese core literacy.At present,Chinese scholars have made some achievements in the study of reading the whole book,but the study on the teaching of reading the whole book focuses on primary and junior high schools.There are few researches on the teaching strategies of reading the whole book in urban high schools,and the promotion of reading the whole book faces many challenges in urban high schools.From the perspective of teachers,the reading status of the whole book is worrying.Lack of strategies in the teaching process of reading the whole book;In the whole book reading teaching evaluation method is single.From the perspective of students:students lack of interest in reading the whole book;Lack of guidance on reading methods throughout the book;Lacking the depth and breadth of the book.From the perspective of environment: the whole book reading in school is not sufficient;The reading atmosphere of the whole book is not strong in the class.These problems affect the effect of the whole book reading teaching in urban high schools to varying degrees.This study four high schools in different regions in gansu province as the research object,through the form of questionnaire and interview to understand the problems existing in the town the whole book reading teaching high school,in the whole book reading,on the basis of relevant research data,from two aspects of teaching and the environment,put forward the corresponding improvement strategies: in the teaching,rich reading literacy,improved the recognition of the whole book reading;Set up the reading situation to improve the reading interest of the whole book;Teachers and students read together to develop the reading habit of the whole book;Read the textbook in depth to learn how to read the whole book;Perfect the evaluation criteria and enrich the evaluation types of the whole book;Combine teaching and discussion to explore effective reading strategies for the whole book.At the same time,the school can open the school library and reading room to provide the whole book reading resources;The class can set up a book corner to improve the reading atmosphere of the whole book.This study hopes to provide insight into the problems existing in the reading of the whole book for front-line teachers through a new perspective,and improve the reading ability of urban high school students.
