College students are the builders of future socialism with Chinese characteristics, an important symbol of social development and progress of a nation, and human indemnity of achieving the comprehensive, coordinated and sustainable development. However, the social continuous development and the change of employment way have brought the new opportunities and challenges to college students, and in the meantime the competition between them becomes more intense. Therefore the pressure from all these aspects for the undergraduates affects the health and development of personality. The number of college students with different degrees of mental disorders and potential problems are increasing. Their "sub-healthy" state shows particularly prominent so it is necessary to study the related factors that lead to college students' sub-healthy, which provide the positive solution and scientific basis for the adverse consequences caused by further eliminating the "sub-healthy" state of college students. In the paper,1500 undergraduates from 8 universities of Gansu province are randomly chosen as research subjects. Their sub-healthy states are investigated and studied and the causes on physical and psychological sub-health are analyzed from many factors with the methods of literature study, questionnaire survey and mathematical statistics. The purpose is to learn the problems on the sub-healthy state of college student and find the influencing factors and on this basis propose some positive solutions in order to provide some scientific and theoretical basis for healthy development of college students. It came to such conclusion through the investigation:(1) The sub-health states of undergraduate college students in Gansu province have no significant relationship with body type, family income and different division between Arts and Science. The main factors causing their sub-health state are disorder of studying and resting, lack of exercises and other bad living ways. (2) The sub-health states of undergraduate college students in Gansu province have different distributions, that is, girls are more likely to have this state than boys; the sub-health proportion of Han students is higher than minority students. (3) Students with different grades have different degrees of sub-health states and significant difference in the rate of holding this state in Gansu undergraduate college. The sub-health proportion of the freshman and senior is higher than the sophmore and junior because the changing roles from high school to college has a great influence on freshman while the senior is facing the presure for job and lack of exercises. (4) The sub-health proportion of students without parents is higher than students with single-parent and two-parent families. The students without parents in the face of setbacks and difficulities, choose the negative handling ways and put themselves outside the surrounding environment. (5) The attitude for physical exercise, sport frequency and sport intense of undergraduate students have great influences on the holding rate of sub-health state. With the positive attitudes to paiticipate in the sport exercises, and 2-4 times sport exercises one week and slight sweet after it can effectively prevent from sub-health. (6) The psychological factors of the levels of depression and anxiety have a positive corelation with the sub-health holding rate; the self-affirmation levels has a negative corelation with the sub-health holding rate. Drowsiness, nervousness and anxiety are main causes for mental sub-health. (7) The each score of sub-healther adapting to social environment is given a high and low ranking, the higher scores, the greater influence on the sub-health social adaptation. Personal tense relationship, harsh environmental conditions, economic constraints and the influence of family fiction on life are the most direct incentives for sub-health of social adaptation of undergraduate college students in Gansu province.
