Under the conditions of popular higher education, owing to the worry of the teaching quality of the university, the society needs urgently teachers to come out from the mistaken idea of valuing scientific research more than teaching in order to throw themselves into teaching actively. The academic devoting into teaching means an academic regards teaching as primary task, and makes great efforts to put its main time, energy in teaching. The academic should devote into teaching. A lot of factors influence academics devoting into teaching, the external factors such as impact on teaching of social development and the national scientific research policy, the appeal of community service or market, the teacher's status, policy and measure of the university, teaching training, teaching fund input and teaching terms, atmosphere of studying, etc. The inside factors have teaching attitude and sense of duty, psychological environment and teaching efficiency sense, controlling ability of teaching, etc. The academic devoting into teaching has distinct characteristics. They regard teaching as primary task, have strong teaching responsibility consciousness, prepare teaching adequately, try the new teaching methods, associate with students positively, have a solid scientific research foundation and probe into academic enthusiasm, cooperate in probing into the teaching law, train the young teachers enthusiastically. Leading, ensuring, realizing, promoting academic devoting into teaching should establish the center position of teaching, form the good system environment which is favorable to teaching, perfect the teaching incentive mechanism, improve teaching level of management and service, set up scientific, rational, objective, just appraisal mechanism and strengthen teacher's professional ethics training.
