Some American scholars once made a social investigation about the disparity between the poor and the rich countries by using the theory of the New Economic Growth. It showed the main reason why the poor countries couldn't catch up with the rich countries was a lack of talent people, that is , their education was less developed and talent people and people's knowledge were inadequate. However, education, as one of the important bases that bring up talent people shoulders its mission of times, which has decided that it must have an educational consciousness in advance not only for nowadays but also for the future. The talent people who are trained by modern education should retain, carry on and carry forward their native splendid cultural traditions as well as face to modernization, face to the world and face to the future. As a result, bilingual teaching has become the disputed focus of modern education.But is it necessary to carry out bilingual teaching? And how shall we do with geography bilingual teaching?In this article, according to the relative theories of pedagogy and psychology, the writer has inquired into the definition, the origin, the theory and the status quo of bilingual teaching; set forth the experimental rules, designs and the programs to carry out and made clear the contents and ways of evaluating it.The result of the experiment has made known the feasibility and necessity of geography bilingual teaching in high school.At the same time, the writer has listed numerous problems and relative suggestions about it and hops that the educational department in charge can pay attention to it.The realistic significance of the experiment is that it can help reform courses, adapt teaching materials and improve teaching methods and improve the quality of education in the long run.
