At present, the direction of worldwide education has transferred from intellect-oriention to emotion-orientation. Emotion-oriented education, as an education on the core of attitude and emotion, is not a specific teaching approach, but a teaching thought, a teaching notion. It is a component part of education to develop in an all-round way. It is concerned with the students' attitude, mood, emotion and concept ( belief ) in the educational process in order to promote their individuality and the healthy state of the whole society. "Test-oriented" Chinese language teaching, pays attention to the mastering of knowledge, far from being practical. It isn't good for cultivating students, particular at the aspects of emotional and aesthetic edifying. Chinese language teaching should attach great importance to emotional teaching, foster the students' ability to sentiment and interest, develop their sound individuality and have a noble character, because Chinese language teaching integrates tools with humanism. This article emphasizes the necessity of strengthening emotion-oriented education in vocational schools from the point of the present state of Chinses language teaching in vocational schools. Chapter One talks briefly about the implication and essence of Chinese language teaching in vocational schools. Chapter Two gives a detailed analysis of the significance of emotion-oriented education teaching in vocational schools. First, it analyzes the deplorable state of emotion-oriented Chinese language teaching in vocational schools. Then it illustrates the various meanings of emotion-oriened education in cultivating students in the vocational schools. Meanwhile it points out that emotion-oriented education has an obvious advantage in Chinese language teaching over other subjects. Chapter Four lists out the detailed measures to carry out emotion-oriented education , including teaching stages and teaching procedures of classroom instruction, reading instruction, writing instruction, and takes notice of exploring distinctive patterns of emotion-oriented education. Finally, the article states that education neglect of emotion is not an overall education, so emotion-oriented education should be an indispensable part of Chinese language teaching by all means.
