The ability of problem-solving among students is the important aspect of new coursereform in our nation and is the basic requirements for citizen in society. With the faster speedof knowledge updating in modern information society, it is necessary for students to acquirenew knowledge and information by resolving the course problems and the academy relatedproblems in daily life. Therefore, the motion of participation initiatively, inquire cheerfully,thinking frequently should be promoted in the new course to treat the study as the discoverymovement and the creative process by the applying of problem-solving teaching model, whichcan make great impact on study method and training of communication and cooperation,innovative spirit and practice ability. It is common in Britain, America, Canada and Japan to regard the problem-solvingability as the main stream and the primary task in current education, and also it is one of themain educational tasks to improve the ability of problem-solving among students. There is great development of the problem-solving ability in China, and recently theintensive research of the problem-solving ability , especially the applied research of it in thefield of mathematics teaching has made a greater progress with the knowledge improvementand concept shifting. However, it is slower in biology teaching. Therefore, the training of theproblem-solving among students is not only the primary task of basic education reform anddevelopment in China, but also the new requirements for biology course, furthermore. The thesis combines the current biology development, adopts the method of documentssummarizing and case-study method, consults a large amount of documents, utilizes the webresources, and makes conclusions of some related views and theoretical foundation, to make aresearch on the teaching models of the problem-solving ability in middle school biologicalteaching, and find out the linkage between relative courses and its measure. In the backgroundof new course, the thesis has also clarified the task of how to improve the learning method inorder to training the students' grasp-learning and its adaptable ability in society. There arethree kinds of problem-solving teaching models in the applying middle school biologyteaching: 1 aims at scientific concept acquired problem-solving teaching model 2 aims at scientific method acquired problem-solving teaching model 3 aims at problem-related consciousness acquired problem-solving model The thesis analyse the function of the problem-solving teaching model in cultivatingstudents on observing ability, transference ability, thinking ability in accordance with thetheory of modern psychology and teaching theory, specify the operated procedure, and alsomakes some adaptable tactics for teachers, in order to make a mutual discussion.
