In the third National Education Conference, President Jiang Zemin said, "It is educationthat decides the nation ups and downs". As an important subject in the secondary school,physical education can help the teenagers be healthy physically and psychologically. Aninnovation of Chinese education notes, "the hope of national development is education; thehope of educational development is a teacher". Obviously, it shows the importance of teachersin education. With the economic and social development and with the voice of nationalprosperity in the help of science and education, Changchun, a capital and outstanding culturalcity, has stepped forward in the education innovation. New Curriculum criteria has beenimplemented there. Wangzhan, the vice minister of educational department, pointed out theimportance of curriculum innovation. He said, "It is a teacher who helps educational successand who can also make it fail". Teachers are the center in the implement of the curriculuminnovation. They decide whether the new curriculum can be carried out deeply. Theirunderstanding and participation also orient the new curriculum. New curriculum criteria hasbeen carried out for two years. There has been no investigation and analysis about the changeof the physical teachers in the junior high school. My study has certain significance not onlyin the better implement of the new curriculum but in the change of the physical teachers in thesecondary school in Changchun as well. It also helps the development of physical educationin Changchun. This article investigates and analyzes the change of the physical teachers' role in thesecondary school in Changchun after the implement of the new curriculum. It uses literaturereviews, questionnaires, professor interviews, statistics and so on. The results are: 86.1% ofphysical teachers understand the new curriculum; 12.9% of physical teachers do notunderstand the new curriculum well; 87.4% of physical teachers practice the theory in theirclass; 3.6% of physical teachers do not practice the theory in their class. The change of theteachers' role is the importance of the implement of the new curriculum. The samples arephysical teachers from 33 secondary schools in Changchun. The results of the change of thephysical teachers' role are: in the relationship of teachers and students, 56.2% of teachers donot convey the knowledge as the main task and purpose, 79.4% of teachers emphasize tofoster the competence of the students and stimulate their interest and 60.3% of teachers do noteducate the students with the help of models but help them self-monitor and be a healthyperson physically and psychologically; in the aspect of teaching, 17% of teachers can thinktheir teaching and do not use the old way, which helps the development of teachers andtextbooks, 43.8% of teachers can self-reflect after class in time, 81.9% of teachers payattention to the reflection but no more than 50% of teachers can summarize the experience; inthe relationship of teaching and curriculum, 29.4% of teachers nearly has no perception of thecurriculum and 14.9% of teachers never has perception of the curriculum, 22.2% of teacherscan master the teaching syllabus , 49.5% of teachers can develop the new curriculum, 16% ofteachers have never developed it; 11.3% of teachers have never evaluate and assess thetextbooks and the students, 14.4% of teachers seldom evaluate and assess the textbooks andthe students, 49.5% of teachers sometimes evaluate and assess the textbooks and the students,only 24.7% of teachers can adapt to the change of the teachers' role in the new curriculum; inthe relationship of the teachers and the society, 17% of teachers never take part in the activityin the community, 21.1% of teachers seldom take part in the activity in the community, mostteachers can take part in the activity in the community, only 12.4% of teachers can use theresources in the community to complete their own teaching content, 28.4% of teacherssometimes use the resources in the community, and 59.3% of teachers seldom and never usethe resourc...
