Trust And Order In The Political System

There are many kinds of conditions for a political system to maintain its existence and continuation, and trust is one of them. The status and function of trust can be understood and studied from many different perspectives. This article aims to have a discussion of trust in the political life from aspects of both theory and reality.Insofar as the theory aspect, in the vision of political sociology, trust is an indispensable social resource for a political life; when it is imbedded into political structure and when it interacts with its constitutional elements, trust gives play to such functions as political legitimacy, society-union, society-control and political performance, etc.. It is these functions that maintain the normal operation of the social order. Based on the theory of structural-functionalism to research the development and transformation of history in an all-round way , It can be concluded that the splitting-up of the structure and function is a historical process in line with the splitting of interests and class; social splitting will inevitably cause the social foundation of politics to be threatened by the something potential or present, and thus the legitimacy crisis begins to show.As trust is put into the specific historical background that the Chinese society undergoes a transition. It can be found that society-deconstruction and society-rebuilding go hand in hand in the specific era of "two-element social structure"; the structure and function of the social organism become more complicated, and the social stratum splits up rapidly, the interests pattern are re-regulated, and new and old ideas conflict, which doubts and challenges the value of trust, thus the trust crisis begins to spread. A realistic lesson that the administrators are facing is how to overcome present trust-crisis and rebuild trust so as to expand the social foundation of administration, safeguard political stability and keep the society developing harmoniously.This study shows that the relational mode between trust and politics undergoes great changes at the same time, in line with historical development. On this basis, not only do we need to clarify systematically the relationship between trust and politics, but also we need to make corresponding innovations and arrangements in terms of constitutional system.
