As an important learning theory, Situated Learning, which provides a way of meaningful learning and promotes the transformation of the knowledge into real life situation, has received wide recognition among researchers since the end of 1980s. Theories of this research focus on what kind of situation facilitates the learning process and how to create it. Studies show that interest is the driving force for people to study hard and to pursuit their goals. Therefore, it is up to educators to know the goal of their students so that effective teaching method can be developed to motivate the students' interest and let them achieve their goals on their own. It is through this process that they can acquire the specific knowledge and skills that are passed on by teachers. The Goal-based Scenarios is a situated learning mode that combines teaching activities and the goal of the students. The requirement of the creation of situation is to respect the interest of the learner.R.Schank, a famous American artificial intelligence and cognitive scientist first initiated goal-based Scenarios (GBS). The major elements of this process include target skill, mission, cover story, focus task and operation, etc.So far, most relevant researches have been carried out at technical schools when teaching procedural knowledge and skills. After the reform of elementary education, the new standard of mathematics course requires teachers to foster students' ability to construct mathematical models and their application awareness. In this sense, we can make a breakthrough in the promotion of GBS teaching mode in elementary education by mathematics teaching.This paper first elaborates on the basic concepts and theory about GBS. Drawing upon the research and empirical studies by domestic and overseas experts, the author then tries to study the design of the method and the digital teaching platform on the basis of his understanding of the GBS theory.GBS is a typical situation-teaching mode. Therefore, the independent choice made by learners in the situation in GBS are fully respected and emphasized so that learners with different interest can finally achieve the same learning objective and acquire the same skills through different task under the situation they chose. Meanwhile, teachers and students are invited to evaluate this digital teaching platform. According to the analysis of the result, the appraisal made by experts is testified-GBS is a typical teaching design mode centering on problem solving. It is in line with the basic education principles put forward by Merrill and more advantageous than other modes of the same kind.
