At beginning of the 21st century, a new circle of basic education reform has started in China, and the core of this reform is to reform the curriculum. The key of curriculum reform lies in the comprehension and carrying out on the part of the teachers concerned. Whether it can win lies in whether teachers are able to adapt themselves to the requirements set by the new curriculum standard. This paper surveys the situation of the political science teachers' teaching ability in Hand an middle schools when they are in the process of the basic education curriculum reform, according to the requirements of the teachers set by Standard for Middle School Political Science subject. Through this survey, it is found that the cognition ability and reconstructional ability on the part of the Handan middle schools' teachers are fairy weak and it is not up to the standard for a teacher to tread the traditional educational beaten road, using the new set of the teaching materials in middle school Political Science class. In view of this, several pieces of advice are prudently given that might solve the current problems of middle school Political Science teachers. It is hopeful that Handan middle schools' teachers might adapt themselves to the requirements by the new curriculum reform and carry it forward.
