Education acts as a means of transmitting and creating culture. The continuality of education can not be replaced by any culture. In the process of educating, teacher no doubt plays an important role. Since 1980s, the specialization of teacher has become a trend, and training researching-type teacher become an effective strategy for the development of education and improvement of teacher' s social status. At present, all the studies focus on the common points of researching-type teacher and the subject character of every teacher is not highlighted. In this paper, the method of singular case study is adopted to study special-class chemistry teacher, Yan Mengxing who is teaching now in Tsinghua attached middle school. I think he has the four characters of researching-type teacher. Through studying his teaching ideas, his growth element and growth way, I mean to make a structure of researching-type chemistry teacher and on these characters, I make a suggestion of being a research-type chemistry teacher.The teaching ideas of Yan Mengxing are: chemistry teaching is a combination of theory and history, a combination of person and event, a combination of feeling and emotion, a combination of action and quietness, and the teaching process is a mixture of chemical experiment and chemical history story. The process is also a combination of chemistry aesthetics and the development of training entrepreneur and experience ability. In this chemistry teaching, the quality of students is improved in will, reason, emotion and physique and their personality, hobby and their specialty are fully developed. On the other hand, the teacher intends to love more their students and be faithful to their career; to explore aesthetics and truth; to shoulder greater responsibility; to renew their thoughts.The growth ways of teacher Yan Mengxing are: 1. deciding to be a research-type teacher, 2. reading to be the accretion, 3. getting the inspiration, 4. finding the research cutting points. 5. Having a clear objective and creating research.The growth elements of teacher Yan Mengxing are as follows: 1. good influence from his family, 2. fine influence of Tsinghua attached middle school, 3. excellent quality of personality, including: continuing to explore and develop, having wide interests, tending to absorb easily, having the good habit of accumulating. On the other hand, he tends to be an honest man, to do things precisely, to develop a strong will, and he has also a quiet and reasonable life outlook.
