The new round of curriculum reform of basic education requires our teachers to establish and implement a new educational concept: education should be completely student-oriented and quality-oriented; develop student's comprehensive language use ability based upon language skills, language knowledge, emotion and attitude, learning strategies and cultural development; emphasize the student learner's role and respect individual differences; by means of sense, experience, participation and cooperation, adjust our emotion and strategy during the course of learning so as to promote the ability of language use; establish an appraisal system which can stimulate learning interest and facilitate the ability development of independent learning; make full use of curriculum resources and actively explore them, let students have easy access to rich and healthful curriculum resources which are closely related to students themselves, to their life and our times, and promote student English learning by employing visual, TV, books and magazines, Internet information and other many teaching and learning resources. We can meet the new requirements of the new curriculum by adopting a real-life teaching method in our English teaching. Appropriate teaching methodology and modes play an important role in implementing real-life teaching of high school English in a wide and effective way.However, research in this field is still in the initial phase of superficial study. This paper, proceeding from the situation of Junior High School English teaching and learning, comprehensively employing methods of literature review, theoretical research and case study, systematically and thoroughly discusses the connotation and characteristics, teaching rules, methods and teaching and learning appraisal system of life teaching of Junior High School English under the circumstances of new curriculum requirements. This paper is divided into six parts:Part I. Introduction. It summarizes the necessity of life teaching in the circumstances of new curriculum requirements, reviews the current research situation of real-life teaching strategies at home and abroad and clearly points out this research's theoretical and practical significance.Part II. Connotation and Characteristics of Life Teaching. It analyzes the concept of "life" and defines what life teaching is. It further reveals the essence of life English teaching under the circumstances of new English curriculum, that is, life teaching of Junior high school English is characterized by social interaction, practice, initiative, authenticity and dynamic development.Part III. Teaching rules of life Teaching of Junior High School. In order to meet the need of the new round curriculum reform, the life-teaching depends upon the following four factors: requirements of new curriculum reform, student's development demand .social demand of English learning and the guide to the English teaching.Part IV. Teaching Methodology of High School Life Teaching. In line with the newrequirements of curriculum and special features determined by real-life teaching itself, several methods are introduced: situational teaching, cooperative teaching and learning and communicative teaching.Part V.
