Play is a glamorous kind of activity for mankind. Children like playing and need playing. When they are playing, their bodies and minds are united, and the left and right side of the brain is in harmony. The mood of play is the most creative and vital status for human beings, and is also the existence of human natural truth and goodliness. In play, the child's cognition,emotion,will,action and body can be developed harmoniously. Therefore, large potential educational possibility lies within the realm of play. For a long time, play and study have been in opposition in people's subconsciousness. People always consider play as "addicting to play",neglecting study or having a non-serious attitude. Play has no real position in educational practice. Even if a student is allowed to play, that is for sake of combining work with leisure, studying is considered more efficient. The value of play is subject to study and play itself has no meaning. At present, in the fierce competition of primary and middle schools, student's play rights have been deprived seriously, which brings very bad results to the student's development. Based on the above-mentioned three reasons, the author put forward a new teaching thought: "Play Study". Just as we play with wooden blocks and football, we play "study". "Play Study"includes two meanings: one is to treat study with a playful attitude, the other is to study during play or to play during study. "Play Study"also means that teachers play "teaching"and it affirms the value of play itself . As a kind of new teaching thought, "Play Study"embodies a fine spirit: game spirit. In this article, game spirit has been discussed in detail, because only when we comprehend the game spirit, can we appreciate "Play Study"better. Besides, "Play Study"not only pays attention to the result of the teacher's teaching and the student's learning, but also to the process of teaching and learning, in which game spirit can be developed gradually. Now, the new curriculum reform that emphasizes the development of the student's practical and creative abilities is quality education for all students. The new curriculum of physics strengthens the connection between the contents of physics and the student's daily life as well as labor practices. It advocates independence, cooperation and enquiry into study methods and the diversification in teaching methods. It also requests equal development in knowledge and skill, process and method, emotion,attitude and value. Combining with physics'inherent glamour, these factors match with the teaching thought of "Play Study". That is to say, "Play Study"is an ideal teaching thought that could be used for carrying out the new physics curriculum. In the last part of this thesis, the author offers a few cases of "Play Study ", which aims at exhibiting the feasibility of "Play Study"and providing reference for the "Play Study "implementation.
