《China's Educational Reform and Development Outline》 clearly points out that "secondary and primary schools should be converted to the track of an overall improvement of the national quality from the exam-oriented education" and "managed with their own features. To run the school with its own features is very important to the improvement of the integral level of basic education. When thinking about running schools in this new century, educators of secondary and primary schools are focusing on pursuing and forming their own school-running features, and improving the overall quality of students.At present, in spite of the discussion and helpful experiment of the theory of running a school with individual features, little research is done to find out the condition, connotation of the individual characteristics of school management by "disserting sparrows and analyzing the model to fully -analyze a particular famous school.Therefore, it's quite necessary to study the individual features of school management of The No. 1 Middle School of Changde City—a famous school of Hunan province. This research is done by summarizing experiences, looking into some cases and studying documents.Through the research, we have a thorough knowledge and understanding of the history, the thought of school management and the great achievements of the No. 1 Middle School of Changde City, from which we abstract that its unique feature of school management—"The pursuit of harmony"—is a natural education philosophy, a should-be education bourn, and a perfect quality of school; we generalize that the embodiment of the unique features is the attention to the harmonious school management,the establishment of the harmonious teaching-learning...
