Teng Chong County, locating in border area, can be regarded as a representative of frontier counties in Yunnan Province. The teachers' mental health level contributes not only to educational quality of middle schools, but also to adolescents' mental and body health. Thus, to promote junior middle school education of Teng Chong County, we have to pay more attentions on teachers' mental health level. My thesis is trying to investigate the mental health status of middle school teachers in Theng Chong County and to put forward relevant countermeasures on the basis of results of investigation.Reviewing the national and international researches on mental health, I combine investigational method and questionnaire(SCL — 90) as tools for my study, 300 teachers coming from town, outskirts and rural area of Theng Chong County partcipate relevant tests. The results indicate that their mental health levels are significantly lower than those of national norm. In addition, themental health level of teachers coining from town is lower than those of teachers coming from outskirts and area, and female teachers' mental health level is lower than that of male teachers. As a result, teacher's cognitive bias, working stress, emotional disorders, role conflict, poor interpersonal relationship, some weakness of individual personality and so on affect their mental health status. On the basis of above said aspects, I put forward relevant countermeasures as follows: (1) Fully develop teachers' subjective activity; (2)Provide good educational environments that benefit teachers' mental health; (3) Improving their coping abilities to stress and adverse circumstances.
