Reading is the most foundational study for a student and reading abilities of his are the most elementary. Maybe it is the only way for a student to grow up, become a useful person, control himself and enrich his life. At school, reading is the important way for him to get knowledge. To learn well it is one of the school education aims. In the future, it would be hard to fit in with the needs of the society if one person had no reading skills. So reading has profound important significance for a junior school student.But in fact, as a result of education-for-test, the students, parents, teachers and society have had one-sided recognization on reading. They have affected the students raising their comprehensive diathesis and keeping continuous development. If we can't seize the opportunity of read teaching, school education will be hard to make a breakthrough and reforms of new curriculums will also be hard to carry out.This thesis just makes center for teaching of History and Society studies. It mainly inquires into the points of key, reading methods, reading principles and effective measures. I have got initial results in nine kinds of basic reading methods, six relative special reading principles and three measures from practices. Especially, this research has paid much more attention to Internet Reading, Outside Reading and some other readings. It is pointed out emphatically that reading should be closely together with practice. All these can produce reference and useful enlightenments for the numerous teachers.By this research, the students have got marked progress in their abilities. They like reading more and more. They are also good at it now. They have mastered right reading methods, formed stronger abilities and good reading habits. So it has proved that if we made interesting for the points of key, obeyed to some principles and made some effective measures, we would improve the students' comprehensive diathesis and lay a foundation for their continuous development. It is beneficial to teaching qualities if the students improve their reading level. It has some activity affection to style of study and school spirit.
