The Role And Mission Of The Middle Schools Teachers' Trade Union In The New Situation

A Middle School Teachers' Trade Union is an organization formed by teachers and staff in middle schools voluntarily. It's an important political power in middle schools and an important combining part of the management of middle schools. According to its character and functions, it should perform a particular function in protecting teachers and staffs reasonable rights and interests. However, data and investigations show that there are different kinds of problems in the practical work of the Middle School Teachers' Trade Unions for different reasons and the Union can't perform functions well. So it's hard for the Union to get the support of teachers and staff, even it's considered not to be essential by some people. Especially, many middle school teachers' trade unions still work in a way of only organizing activities and providing some welfare and don't take effect that they should take on the base of performing their basic function in the present new situation that our country puts forward the all-round construction of a well-to-do society, the All-China Federation of Trade Unions makes it clear that protecting staff and workers' rights and interests is the basic duty of the trade union and the basic education develops fast and reforms deeply. The root cause is that the Middle School Teachers' Trade Union is lack of its clear location of its role and mission, so it can't grasp the emphasis work for lack of clear aim and direction and influences its function performance greatly. The basic aim of this thesis is to research the role and mission of the Middle School Teachers' Trade Union and the problems that appear in the procedure of realizing its role and the mission. It has significances both in theory and practice. For the theory, it will enrich the theory on the trade union and education administration and make a clear location for the role and mission of the Middle School Teachers' Trade Union, so the Middle School Teachers' Trade Union may have a clear theory as a guide and avoid working aimlessly. For the practice, it also has reality significance to research the role and mission of the Middle School Teachers' Trade Union and problems in realizing its role and mission and also give suggestions of solving the problems. It will do good to improve the management level and perform particular functions of the Middle School Teachers' Trade Union.The thesis tries to begin the research with theory according to the real problems in the work of the middle school teachers' trade unions. Firstly, it researches the role and mission of China Trade Union on the base of the basic character of the trade union and the demands of present new situation through studying the history of the world trade unions, the typical trade unions of some former socialism countries and the All-China Federation of Trade Unions. Then on the base of above, combining the research of foreign education trade union and the new demands of national education development, it shows the role and mission of the Educational Workers' Trade Union. In the end, it leads to the role and mission of the Middle School Teachers' Trade Union in new situation and gives its own opinions on the basic role and derivative roles and also the internal mission and external period missions according to the newsituation. At last, it turns to practice again. Making the middle school teachers' trade unions in Mudanjiang as a case, it analyses the problems in their realizing the role and the mission of the Middle School Teachers' Trade Union and puts forwards the suggestions on solving the problems in order that other middle school teachers' trade unions may draw lessons from this and realize the role and mission better.
