Study On The Evaluation Characteristics Of Civilian-run Colleges And Universities In China

Private higher education is developing fast in our country since reform and open policy. Now there is more attention about its quality. We can't evaluate the quality of civil-run colleges and universities with the methods how we evaluate elite education and governmental universities. The same criterion will not accord with the fact of higher education in our country, and not do favor to the healthy development of private higher education, and not conduce to the mass higher education. Therefore, study on the evaluation characteristics of civil-run colleges and universities is positive.According to the mentality of proposing questions, analyzing questions and solving questions, the article introduces and analyzes some methods about evaluation on private universities in some foreign countries and Chinese governmental universities. The article summarizes the problem on evaluation of civil-run colleges and universities in our country, then shows us the actuality of our civil-run colleges and universities, and analyzes the different evaluation bodies and relations between them. The article opens out the evaluation characteristics of civil-run colleges and universities in our country from five aspects that include evaluation organization, evaluation objective, evaluation criterions, evaluation methods, evaluation results. At last, it puts forward the principles and advices of evaluation on civil-run colleges and universities in our country on the basis of characteristics.
