To cultivate creative talents with competitive ability is the historic mission for Chinese high education in the new century. The new mission means a new opportunity as well as a challenge for the college physical education teaching. So, on the basis of the thoughts of "Health First" and life-long physical education, the focus of discovering and reforming physical education teaching model has been placed on how to combine the three goals together in the new model-to enhance the college students' physical education ability, to develop their individuality and other comprehensive social qualifications such as innovation ability.In order to help build the students' bodies, develop the students' good values and social abilities, his essay comes up with a new teaching model on the college girls' physique course. The new model brings forward three suggestions-"to guide the students' study, to arouse their interest and to cultivate their innovation ability". The research, based on the theories of education, psychology, and physical education methodology, is constructed with teaching contents, teaching goals, teaching practice, teaching strategies and teaching evaluation. The research adopts researching methods of bibliography, experiments and statistics analysis, etc to justify its hypothesis. The new teaching model experiments upon girl students' physique class, 2003 in Hunan University t to help change their passive study style to active one o for the feasibility and practicability. The search aims at finding out a new physical education teaching method to help change their passive study style to active one, forge their progressive and optimistic personality, to experience the value of teamwork and cooperation and to develop the necessary spirits of facing up the challenge, competition and still being innovative before enteringsociety. The essay, hopefully, is of some help for the teaching model reformation in the methodology by optimizing the teaching research achievements and therefore, provides some reference evidence for the development and improvement of college girl students' physique course.
