In modern society, the technologies and sciences development each day, the limited knowledge which students can accept in the classroom has not been able to meet their need to develop. Our education must not only teach students certain concrete knowledge, but also teach students to obtain the methods to obtain knowledge, namely wants students to "learn how to learn ".Follows "the Reforming Summary of Elementary Education Curriculum be (Implementation)" promulgates and "National Curriculum Standard" carrying out, curriculum reforms of our country elementary education enter for a new time. Students' science inquiry ability has become the focal point of many countries' education attention at present. In recent years, our country's new turn of elementary education curriculum reforms initiate the study way that" independence, cooperation, and inquiry", pay attention to students' independence .Inquiry teaching, as one kind of brand-new teaching idea, has been introduced into reforms to the elementary education curriculum and has aroused the general elementary and middle schools teachers' interests. The new curriculum initiates students to be glad to participate and inquiry .Chemistry curriculum as the important constituent of science education is positively carrying on the curriculum reforms. Raising students' scientific accomplishment is the basic goal of chemistry curriculum reforms;The key to effectively carry out this goal is to positively develop science inquiry activities and pay great attention to guiding students to carry on inquiry into study in chemistry teaching. Implementing inquiry teaching into the chemistry teaching is for the purpose of changing students' study way, transforming the center gravity of study from overemphasizing the inheritance and the accumulation of knowledge to the inquiring process, thus will raise students' science inquiry ability, realistic scientific attitude and exploration spirit.This article has elaborated the formation, the development, the present research situation and the educational and psychological foundation of inquiry teaching, elaborated the significance, disciplines and characteristics of the inquiry teaching implementing into chemistry. Then in this foundation it has proposed requests to teachers,constructed concrete teaching sequence of operation and the teaching strategy. Not only is it a summary of the research at present, also are the consummation and the further development of inquiry teaching theory in chemistry.
