The objective of this thesis is to discuss appropriate of mathematics teaching to help those low-achievers in mathematics to move away from their disadvantageous status using the theory of multiple intelligences. We first review the definition of low-achievers in mathematics under the traditional intelligence theory and its limitations. Then we focus on the main ideas of multiple intelligences and redefine mathematical low-achievers from the view of multiple intelligences theory. A mathematical low-achiever is a person who is weak in the mathematical-logical intelligence which makes him/her unable to make the connections between new knowledge and that he/she already knows. Therefore, the first thing we need to know is what aspects these mathematical low-achievers can move on to help them get stronger in the aspects they are strong in order to supple the aspects they are weak at. And use multiple approaches to assess different aspects of students.
