The learning interest scale for senior middle school students in physics is composed of interest level scale and lying scale. The interest level scale is composed of 34 items which form 7 dimensions including overcoming difficulty, devotion, attention, cognition of cause and effect, operating experiment, reading to learn, summarized cognition. By analyzing the reliability of the scale, the results are the internal reliability at 0.899 levels and the re-test reliability at 0.760 levels, which shows the scale with good reliability. The scale also has good construct validity from factor analysis of it. The criterion related validity is also good by using student's self-evaluation as validity criterion. This is a scale with ideal surveying indicators.The scale is used to study the level of learning interest. The results show: The average score of senior middle school students is 19.082 in learning interest (the score range from 0 to 34, the medium is 17), when the number of the item is divided by the average score on each dimension, the result is between 0.294 to 0.735 (the score range from 0 to 1, the medium is 0.5).The scale is used to study the correlation between learning interest and achievement in physics. The results show: The correlation coefficient between learning achievement and learning interest is 0.345. The learning interest of the high-achieving students is higher than those of the low-achieving students. There exist significant differences in learning interest on the whole and most dimensions except reading to learn between the high-achieving students and the low-achieving students.The scale is used to study the relationship among learning interest, gender, grade and the culture level of parents. The results show: There are significantdifferences on the learning interest in physics learning in gender. Boys' learning interest is significantly higher than girls'. There exists certain difference in the interest level of senior middle school students in physics learning in grades. The culture level of parents has no significant influence on student's interest in physics learning.The scale is used to study the relationship among physics learning interest, self-efficacy and goal orientations. The results show: The correlation coefficient between student's self-efficacy in physics learning and learning interest is 0.754. The correlation coefficient between students' learning goal orientations and learning interest is 0.660. The correlation coefficient between performance goals orientations and physics learning interest is -0.125.
