In 2001, the Ministry of Education promulgated 'the Essentials of CourseReform in Foundamental Education (trial implementation)'.One of the specificaims of the fundamental education course reform is to 'change the currentconcentrated condition of course management system, enforce three-levelmanipulation by country, local and school level,and strengthen coursesadaptabilities to different regions'. The school-based course constructionbecomes an important aim of the new fundamental education course reform.In our country, the interest groups, extracurricular activity etc. (appearingin about 80's course reform) were embryo of the school-based courses. ThePanhe Middle School of Taian gained some experience in exercise classes. Andthe school has made contribution on the important task about ShandongProvince education and science program, which is 'the research oncomprehensive practice exercise course and the conversion on backward pupil'.All these works have set good foundation on the structuring of school-basedcourses.This article firstly mentions the value and meanings of the research. Andthen the author made a simple introduction of school-based courses, includingthe origin, the concepts, the characteristics, the advantages, weakness situations,and the principles of the structuring of school-based courses. The author arguesthe school-based Geography course by using the Howard Gardner's Theory ofMultiple Intelligences as the foundation. And the course decisions are decidedaccording to three basic tendencies.According to the trials that how my school sets up school-based courses,this article makes important treatise to course project design and courseimplementation. The project makes analytical establishment to the course target,the contents and the structure, argues that the school-based courses should beorganize with the form of 'unit courses' .During implementing period, the basicteaching mode is open teaching, and the main study way is the research study.Especially in both sides about 'unit course' and 'open teaching', the author usesher personal experiences to describe the details and analysis some cases.According to the inquisition, currently, the evaluation to the school-basedcourse is usually neglected. The article carries on the simple analysis about it,and provides an evaluation project as a reference. At last the author put forwardsome difficult problems about the structuring and developing of theschool-based courses and also gives the forecast of the future.
