Along with lifelong learning idea establishment, learning to be has become the important question in discussion of education. How to study? How to acquire knowledge actively and initiatively in short time as soon as possible? Reading is the essential way by which people obtains the knowledge and the information. Reading is mother of the study. Reading is source of the wisdom. According to the statistics of the investigation at present, the majority of high-school students' reading is in the negative condition. The students who have low reading level are difficult to adapt the future society, and the school reading teaching should be established the basement for the students' reading ability, so guiding the students in the reading teaching to form the effective reading strategy becomes the urgent question.By the questionnaire investigation , the author discovered that the reasons why the students' reading is in the negative condition are two aspects: looking from the internal cause, students' reading idea of value is weak, students' self- potency view is not strong enough, students' reading self-awareness is insufficient, the students lacks the metareading knowledge and so on; Looking from the external factor, the new curriculum standard sign reading request, the text readability, teachers' knowledge idea, the test content form, society's big culture and so on are all have certain questions. This thesis aims at these questions. Using questionnaire investigation, method of inspection, method of document reference, comparison test, according to the independent study principle and connecting with reading study, the reading teaching research results and learning from the famous teachers' successful experiences in readingteaching , this thesis put forward two aspects strategies in trainingstudents' independent reading ability : teaching strategy-----laminatedteaching strategy, cooperative study strategy, motive stimulation strategy,question teaching strategy; study strategy------self-encouragementstrategy, self- hypothesis goal strategy, self-designation method, self-monitoring appraisal study strategy . At the same time this thesis studied the experiments by carrying on the independent reading pattern. According to some teaching cases this thesis evaluated the strategy about students' independent reading ability to make it play the effective instruction role in the independent reading teaching and to solve main problems which exist in students reading at present.
