With the development of economy and culture, people think much of their own health. In everyday exercises, they tend to choose those sports which are very interesting, practical and very good to health, but which require less technique. Based on above, Ministry of Education put forward the curriculum idea of track-and-field curriculum in 2003 so as to change the situation that track-and-field is paid less attention to in school sports because of the strong athletic contests of track-and-field curriculum and some other reasons. The content system of track-and-field curriculum consists of orientation and the survival of wild life, which are demanded to be implemented in track-and-field curriculum of physical education in recent years.This thesis attempts to, from the perspective of researcher and executor, utilize the knowledge of pedagogy, physical education, culturology, curriculum and teaching methodology as well as adopt data collecting method, interviews, questionnaires and so on, to analyze the present reform situation of physical education in China and the present situation and developmental requirement of school sports in primary school, middle school and colleges or universities, and summarize the developmental direction of physical education. The two major studied objects of this thesis—orientation and the survival of wild life are defined in order to make clear their connotation. This thesis also presents the current studies on the two sports both abroad and at home in order to provide parts of reference for their implementation in physical education of primary school, middle school and colleges or universities. Through the studies on the teaching content system and the characteristics of orientation and the survival of wild life, and combining the relationship ofthe other curriculums with orientation and the survival of wild life as well as some social and psychological factors, the thesis explores some influencing factors of implementing orientation and the survival of wild life in physical education and proposes corresponding strategies and suggestions which are optimizing the knowledge structure of athletic teachers, scientifically arranging the teaching content of track-and-field, reforming teaching evaluation system, strengthening the relevant law construction and so on. Finally it draws conclusions that orientation can be carried out rigorously in physical education, but only parts of content of the survival of wild life can be implemented in track-and-field curriculum of physical education and it is a long-term process to make orientation and the survival of wild life universal in physical education.The innovation of this thesis lies in: 1) attempting to explore the teaching influencing factors of orientation and the survival of wild life in the curriculum system of physical education;2) setting up the curriculum teaching system of orientation and the survival of wild life in the track-and-field curriculum of physical education;3) putting forward some effective measures of implementing orientation and the survival of wild life in physical education teaching;4) trying to provide useful reference for the effective implementation of track-and-field curriculum in physical education.
