In connection with many problems in the track and field curriculum of the physical education major, using literature, questionnaires, experiment and other research methods, this thesis systematically designs the various elements of the track and field curriculum of the physical education major, with the aim to explore the objectives and content system of the track and field curriculum which is consistent with the basic education and can meet the students’career needs in the physical education major, and to better play their expected roles of the track and field curriculum. The research draws the following main conclusions:1. The track and field curriculum design of the physical education major which is based on learning outcomes is the technology and results, which is based on the classification theory of learning outcomes from verbal information, intellectual skills, cognitive strategies, motor skills and attitude five aspects design the curriculum objectives, curriculum content, curriculum implementation and curriculum evaluation.2. The design of the track and field curriculum objectives is divided into four parts as the preliminary preparation, the classification of objectives, the system of objectives, and the statement of objectives. The preliminary preparation mainly includes the analysis of sources, the gap analysis, and the analysis of student’s characteristics; the classification of objectives mainly includes how to deal relationship of objectives, how to understand the objective levels, and how to classify the objective to many aspects; the system of objectives is the integration of the first two parts; it can improve the accuracy of the objectives statement starting from the four elements of the object, behavior, standards and conditions. The new objectives system of the track and field curriculum is longitudinally divided into the curriculum objectives which are under the guidance of the training objectives of the physical education major, semester objectives, unit objectives, classroom objectives etc.; it can be laterally divided into motor skills, verbal information, intellectual skills, cognitive strategies, and attitude five aspects.3. The design of the curriculum content is divided into two parts of the content selection and content organization. During the content selection of the track and field curriculum, people must follow the principle of consistency, realistic and forward-looking combination, combining occupational needs and interests, as well as the basic principles; the methods of content selection in the track and field curriculum include the categories select method, the flowchart selection method and goal-oriented selection method. During the content organization of the track and field curriculum, people must follow the principle of combining knowledge and skills, combining knowledge sequence with cognitive sequence, combination of theory and practice, and the based priority; it can be used of three-dimensional organization method which is combined of the scope, sequence and learning outcomes. The scope and sequence of the track and field curriculum content through learning outcomes form a new content system.4. Experimental results show that new curriculum program of the track and field can effectively improve students’verbal information, intellectual skills, cognitive strategies and attitudes, and the implementation of the new curriculum programs will not reduce the learning of motor skills; the various types of learning outcomes in no significant differences between the different athletics project; when the class size is not the same, the small classes can effectively improve the students’cognitive strategies.5. It can be evaluated from the design idea, objectives design, content design, curriculum experiments and so on for the curriculum design of the track and field. The curriculum experiments is the focus of the evaluation, and the experimental results is the core of all evaluations, and we can evaluate it from the three aspects of the main effectiveness, education results and vice effectiveness of the experimental results, and these evaluations constitute the evaluation system of the track and field curriculum design.
