As a basic item of public sports and competitive sports,track and field has a wide and profound influence on the development of human sports quality,the promotion of physical health level,and the improvement of competitive sports ability.Therefore,it has the name of "the mother of sports".For this reason,for a long time,track and field project is not only the main content of physical education and health course teaching in ordinary universities,middle schools and primary schools,but also one of the main courses of professional required courses in physical education colleges and universities.The quality of training track and field talents in sports colleges depends on the rationality of track and field curriculum.In recent years,with the development of China’s economic and social,our country’s colleges and universities sports education in order to meet the social demands for applied sports talents,the sports colleges and universities for traditional sports talents training target,the talent training scheme,major setting,curriculum made significant adjustments and reforms,especially for traditional sports education professional track and field course teaching plan adjusted.However,according to the society,especially the different employers at all levels and all kinds of schools reflect,in recent years,the sports colleges and universities to train the sports education graduates of track and field special technology,skills,professional knowledge and teaching ability than the past generally decline.Whether this phenomenon is related to the unreasonable curriculum setting of track and field courses or the deviation of curriculum reform in the current sports colleges and universities in China.In order to investigate the causes of the above phenomena,this study,from the perspective of promoting the reform and development of track and field courses in sports colleges and universities in China,provides some reasonable suggestions for the establishment of track and field general courses in sports colleges and universities.This study adopts the method of literature,investigation,observation,expert interview,mathematical statistics and logical analysis to study the rationality of the curriculum setting of track and field courses in sports colleges and universities.This paper discusses the existing problems and improvement measures in the establishment of track and field general courses in sports colleges in our country at the present stage from the aspects of class planning,teaching content and the arrangement order of course items.The results showed that:1.At present,there are many problems in the curriculum setting of track and field courses in sports colleges and universities,such as insufficient total class hours,incomplete teaching contents,unreasonable allocation of project teaching hours,and general decline of students’ sports skills;To some extent,it ignores the role of track and field course as the main course and the basic role of sports talent training.2.The order of course items in the general courses of track and field in most physical education colleges in China is not reasonable,and it does not strictly follow the teaching principle from simple to complex,from easy to difficult and the law formed by sports skills,so there is room for improvement.3.Some sports colleges and universities do not reasonably allocate the class hours according to the complexity of sports skills and the difficulty of learning,which leads to the phenomenon that the class hours of simple events are too much,and the class hours of technical complex events are not enough.Based on the needs of sports major students’ learning of track and field skills and the rationality of the curriculum setting,the following suggestions are put forward:1.According to the class hours and training objectives stipulated in the National Curriculum Outline,the total class hours of track and field courses should be appropriately increased,so as to enhance students’ basic physical quality and mastery of multiple sports skills,so as to improve their practical working ability.2.According to the teaching principle of "easy first,difficult first,physical ability first,skills first" and the rules of sports skills,and according to the characteristics of skills transfer among different sports items,the order of sports items should be adjusted reasonably,so as to achieve the cultivation of "one specialty and many abilities" all-around sports talents.3.On a class hour,should increase skills complex projects(fosbury style high jump,javelin throw,hurdles,etc.)of the school,accordingly reduce motor skills relatively simple project,sprints,shot put,long jump,etc.)the school,so that the students "reasonable use of limited class hours and better technology complex projects,so as to improve the level of physical fitness and skills in an allround way.
