Ye Shengtao is a Chinese well-known educator, writer andChinese expert in the early twentieth century. He has engaged inChinese teaching, compilation and publishing work for more thansixty years since year of 1912.He is very clear about strengths andweaknesses of Chinese education in the past half century and hewrites a large number of articles. Ye Shengtao' s notion systemof Chinese education with the characteristics of rich, abroad andprofound contents as well as of typical national flavors and eraspirit. He makes great contribution to China's modern educationalsystem based on his real Chinese teaching experiences andtheoretical studies. Ye Shengtao's professional perspectives oneducation are illustrations of his experiences and solutions topractical issues. His ideas on Chinese Literature Reading areembodied in his educational albums and letters. His professionalinterpretations and theoretical particular his notions on ChineseLiterature Reading still glisten and involve strong modernawareness. His theory is an ideology of regarding students assubjects in literature activities. He shifts the core of literatureactivities from the author to the reader, holding that both authorand the reader produce writings together and the reader is improvedto in such productive activities.In recent years, most researches on Ye Shengtao 's educationaltheory is on the microscopes and the whole level, few is on themicroscope level and in details. Reading teaching has been thecenter of researches on Chinese education for a long time. It isquite meaningful and helpful to deeply explore and probe into YeShengtao 's notions on literature reading as well as find out itsmodern value, on the basis of the modern education theory andconsidering the real situation with cognitive regularities,emphasize the subjects position of students and fully cultivatestudents' qualities. According to its background, this paper aimsto reconsider, analyze and absorb the notions on literature reading,probes into its era purpose of enlightening, reforming andinnovating reading teaching.The thesis consists of three parts.The first part is "To Analyze Ye Shengtao' s Notions onLiterature Reading from the angle of the Present Theory" The angleof the present of the present theory refers to explain therationality and the era value of Ye Shengtao's reading's readingnotions, accepting Aesthetics and Modern Educational Psychology.This part is divided into two sections so as to state more clearly.Section one deals with the in Accept Aesthetics---"appealingstructure" and "expected view" are defined. Section two is aboutstatements on educational psychology, which is analyzed in twoaspect of cognitive, and constructionist.Part two is concerned with Ye Shengtao's notions on literaturereading under the system of Chinese new curriculum, the thesisprobes into reasonable and valuable contents of Ye Shengtao'sreading theory and adopts its essence's theory to serve theimplementation of Chinese new curriculum are demonstrated in threeaspects. Firstly, interest and habit are the basis;secondly,developing language sensitivity is an important method;lastly,"self-decide, self-clarify, self-depend, self-explore" areobjectives.Part three is the effects of Ye Shengtao's notions on the modernreading teaching. This part is made up of two sections. First, themain approach to language sensitivity training is analyzed in fouraspects. Secondly, the different process and level about readingteaching. The correct management of the relation between intensivereading and scan reading. The former is a preparation, the latteris an application. Part three starts from two aspects of the model"preview--discussion--application"andtheteacher's instructionin this model.Under the guidance of Marx' s Dialectical Materialism andHistorical Materialism, based on the modern educational theory,adopting relative knowledge of educational psychology and artspsychology, taking in the spirit of Chinese new curriculum, thethesis deeply analyzes Ye Shengtao's reading teaching theory;meanwhile, considering the special of literary works and literaryeducation on aesthetic appreciation, through concrete and deepinvestigations on Ye Shengtao's readings theory, the thesisdisclose that his reading theory is repetitive reading and scanreading, the form of good habits, and the emphasis on languagesensitivity training, under the principles that the purpose ofteaching is to the needless of teaching.The innovation of this thesis is to explore the effect and senseof Ye Shengtao' s notions on literature reading on owe currentChinese literature reading notion in the background of newcurriculum in a new era, stating its era value based on the modernreading theory, aiming at serving the present warm reading teachingreform.
