The fast development of modern technology brings great changes tosociety and enormous and a great variety of pressure to people as well.Among all the pressure, the occupational pressure facing teachers in primaryand middle schools are much more obvious. Constant innovations and reformsin education have made the pressure even greater. The heavy burden hasgreatly damaged the physical and mental health of teachers and affected thenormal life of teachers. It has been an urgent issue to lessen the greatpressure of teachers in order to make sure that their teaching tasks could bewell carried out.The research of occupational pressure about teachers had its earlyappearance in the U.S. early last century. The research of 1960s in the U.S.has shown that 78% of teachers were suffering from pressures to a certaindegree. And many researches done in China also revealed that the burden onthe teachers in primary and middle schools here were even greater. How to getteachers clear about the sources and effects of their pressures and how torelieve them are the focus of this research.By defining the occupational pressure of teachers and analyzing itsharmfulness, the essay analyzes the sources of teachers' pressures andbrings forward some effective ways to cope with pressure.Part I: The definition of teachers' occupational pressure and brief analysisof two aspects of it. They are the basis of this essay.Part II: Brief analysis of the great harm of enormous pressure and pointingout that the heavy burden can not only affect the normal teaching but also dogreat harm to the health of teachers.Part III: An overall analysis of the sources of teachers' pressure in Chinaby consulting many works and relying on the questionnaires designed by theauthor. In the essay, the author points out the source is complex and multiple,including teacher's self-expectation, his (or her) own specialization degreelimitation and individual personality, mixed with mutual effect and influence ofsome explicit environmental factors, including school's administration,social demand , economic burden and paterfamilias' comprehension degree,which formed the main source of junior and senior school teachers' pressure.Part IV:Combined with the analyze and discussion about teacher'sprofessional pressure, bring forwards corresponding solution and tacklestrategy from social consensus, school environment and teacher individualaspects , pointing out that the reduce of teachers' professional pressure onlyneeds explicit environmental instruction, but also needs strengthen teacher'sself-adjust ability. Under the premises that external comprehend pressure,afford effective help for making teachers correctly face pressure and settledown actual problems.
