Mathematics Curriculum Standards (Experimental Version) pays much attention to thedevelopment of students as human beings. Mathematics education is changing from itsoriginal aim of training students' external ability to training the students themselves. So itseems to be the most significant issue of how to make mathematics education serves humandevelopment, that is, life development. To make this purpose comes true, this essayinvestigates life, life education, and life-emphasized teaching, and gets an entirely newmathematics teaching orientation: life-emphasized mathematics teaching.This essay is divided into four parts:Part One introduces the life-emphasized mathematics teaching in middle school,analyzes the theory basis of life education and the concept of life-emphasized mathematicsteaching.In Part Two the real mathematics teaching in middle school is surveyed from the aspectof life education. Such problems are found as: mathematics teaching is far from real life;students' recognition is high lightened, while students' affection is ignored;mathematicsteaching material is dissimilated. These do no good to the life-emphasized mathematicsteaching.Part Three analyzes the reason of non-life-emphasized mathematics teaching from theaspects of teaching process, teachers' education concept, traditional mathematics teachingsystem and teaching evaluation. Collaboration between teacher and student, collaborationamong teachers and collaboration among students is not enough in teaching process.Teachers' teaching concept, including educational concept and student concept, is outmoded.Traditional teaching holds inertia, which can be seen from two aspects: students' thinking isconfined;teaching is reutinized. Teaching evaluation, which includes the externality of theprincipal part and singleness of evaluation, affects the teaching process.Part Four discusses countermeasure of life-emphasized mathematics teaching'sachievement in middle school, which is also the part and parcel of this essay and is expatiatedfrom the following four aspects. First, mathematics education should be based on life,including mathematics teaching walking into life and life fusing with mathematics. Second,experience in teaching, including teaching process experience, affection experience,mathematics aesthetics experience, should be emphasized. Third, students personality shouldbe respected and harmonious life development should be promoted. This includes respectingindividual uniqueness and otherness, taking varied evaluation. The last one is to achieve thedevelopment of both students and teachers. To do this, teachers should hold proper life idea totrain the students' positive and healthy life and affection.
