Developing the students'science literacy is the essential aim of the new curriculum reformation on elementary education. The inquire activities in the chemistry teaching are very important to achieve the aim, by which the students construct chemical knowledge and experience, and their science literacy are improved.In the chemistry teaching, many teachers have no ideas no how to guide students to inquire. They usually refer to the models of inquire teaching. However, in the different inquire activities, what the students gain are different. So inquire teaching can be distinguished by inquire degree.This research is about how to assess the inquire degree of chemistry inquire teaching, which of based on the theories of inquire teaching and the chemistry teaching practice.The thesis involves four contents. The first one is the essence of science inquire and the characteristic, structure and type of the chemical inquire activities. The second one is the meaning of the inquire degree and the factors about it. The third one is the program on assessing the ID of the chemistry inquire teaching. The last one illustrate how to assessing the ID of the chemistry inquire teaching.
