Considering the reform in basic education courses and the theory of science, this paper analyzes the new biology school book (published by People's Education Press), and compares with the textbook of New Zealand. The aim is to sure whether our new text book satisfy the requirement of the course standard and the international trend.According to the theory of modern education, the author uses several methods including quote literature, comparison to study the theory of edit text books in China, and introduces course standards as well. It analyzes the characteristics of two sets of text books, focusing on the comparison with seven aspects such as the selections of contents, structure system, exercises and so on. In addition, the author made questionnaires about the use of the new biology text book conducted away teachers and students in the sample area (Guangdong).The final conclusion is that, two sets of biology text books present the idea of the course standard that is improve the students' science accomplishment, present the humanity ideas, attention scientific investigation as method to study science; pays more attention to the link between science, technology, and society.
