The textbooks are the core elements of curriculum reform.In 2010,the Ministry of Education clearly proposed to strengthen the construction of teaching materials and promote the sharing of quality teaching resources.In view of this,this paper selected the high school biology textbook that is currently widely used in Hong Kong — “New Senior Middle School Basic Biology(Second Edition)” for analysis,hoping to provide references for the preparation and revision of biological textbooks.Based on the history of education in Hong Kong and the system of compilation of textbooks,this paper adopts literature analysis method to analyzes the current status and the curriculum documents of biology education in senior high schools in Hong Kong.By using data statistics,comparisons and other methods,The study analyzed the structural system,knowledge system,and teaching materials of textbooks.In the mean times,the external connections and the ideological and cultural connotations involved are analyzed,and the relevant content is compared with the PEP Biology Textbook to draw the characteristics of Hong Kong's teaching materials.At the same time,the Hong Kong version of teaching materials as a teaching resource introduced into the classroom.The research results show that the Hong Kong version of textbook production is of good quality,clear printing,graphic and colorful,and bright colors;the contents of the teaching materials are in accordance with the curriculum focus,the knowledge system is constructed rationally,and the concept learning is emphasized;the columns are set richly and involve a wide range;the curriculum resources are carefully designed and pay attention to the cultivation of students' interest.Based on this,suggestions are made for the preparation of high school biology textbooks in the mainland and teacher education.For example,the textbooks should focus on the creation of learning situations,update pictures in time,infiltrate STSE education,and prepare to reflect local characteristics.Teachers should not stick to a version of textbooks in teaching,and should be good at drawing pictures and cases from other textbooks.
