Comparison Of Four Different Editions Of Grad 7 Students' Biology School Books Of The New Course Standards

Considering the development of the scientific education theories and the reform in junior education courses, this paper is to analyze four different editions of grade seven students'biology school book (published by Suzhou Education Press, People's education Press, Beijing Normal University Press, HeBei Children Press), and study their effectiveness to satisfy the course standard reform's requirements. Then, comments about the existing biology school books and suggestions on the book selection and book modification are provided. First, based the research surveys, the author studies all aspects of the four editions of biology books, such as system structure, book composition, knowledge points, students'study ability requirements, assignments, content layout and book names, etc. Then, semi-structure questionnaires and personal interviews about the use of these biology school books are conducted towards teachers of the second schools in the sample area (GuiYang and ShiJiaZhuang). Finally, the author summarized the characteristics of the four editions of biology school books: all these books efficiently present the idea of the present course standard ("student oriented", "improvement of the students'science accomplishment", "promotion research study",etc); the arrangement of the knowledge points follows students'cognitive actions; rich set of knowledge points is provided; all books emphasize student's study ability; many forms of assignments are provided; as well as excellent content layout is given. And author concluded that: make different editions of biology school books available; provide small-class based study; use the right method to inspire students in classroom; teacher must master school book correctly ;and name the school book "Biology".
