In the teaching, it should take the student as the center, through teacher's effective organization in order to develop the students' positive activity, the student is the master in mathematics study process, the teacher is the study organizer, the guide and the collaborator. "New Curriculum Standard" also explicitly pointed out that, "The effective mathematics learning activity cannot purely rely on the imitation and memory, the cooperation exchange is the important ways for the student to study mathematics. " The discussion type teaching method provided the opportunity for students to engage in mathematics activity. the student in the process which the discussion and the exchanged mathematics , they use the experiences. Through the widespread mathematics activity, the student can understand truly and grasp the basic mathematics knowledge and the skill, mathematics thought and the method truly.The discussion type teaching method take the student as a center, through the discussion and study it should achieve some aims: trains the student to study independently the ability, the inference ability, the utilization studies the knowledge ability . It is advantageous in training the high quality talented person in order to satisfy the demand nowadays and in the future.As one teaching method, it has become one kind of important breakthrough and the supplement for the traditional teaching organization form. This article has promulgated the connotation of the discussion type teaching method, its development survey, its theory basis, the significance of using discussion type teaching method, the basic condition of using discussion type teaching method, the principle of the discussion type teaching method, the implementation and exploration of the discussion type teaching method, the teaching case, the questions and the solution countermeasure in implementation, the questions which the teacher should pay attention to in the implementation , the comparison between the discussion type teaching method and the traditional teaching method as well as the obtains in using the discussion type teaching method .
