| Geography Curriculum Standard for Ordinary High School (experiment) puts forward new idea of paying attention to the study of geographical questions, advocate launching practical activities such as geography observing , geography investigating , geography experiments and geographical case studying ,etc. The old conception of "activity instruction" is paid attention to again, and become a great characteristic in the new curriculum reform of geography for high school.Different researchers have made different definition to "activity instruction", and teachers are unable to decide which is right with this. Through the investigation of the historical development of activity instruction, the text think "activity instruction" is a instruct reform mainly symbolized by the outside practice, and taking initiative of the student's activity as its basic characteristic. Thus offer a simple and easy feasible . standard for the teachers to understand and practice activity instruction. This text also has clarified some mistaken ideas existing in the activity instruction practice, deeply discussed the feasibility and necessity of launching activity instruction in the new geography curriculum for high school.Through the investigation, the author find there are two big problems in the practice of activity instruction. First, the activity is launched very insufficiently. Second, the initiative of student's activity is not enough. This text has analyzed these two problems deeply, and announced various kinds of origins that hinder the launching of activity instruction in the new geography curriculum of high school.According to the problems mentioned above, this text has put forward the principles of improving activity instruction of new geography curriculum for high school; Put forward the concrete improvement opinions and suggestions to different activity types in new geography curriculum for high school separately, expect to be beneficial to a vast teacher.
