A new round of basic education reform in geography curriculum had proposed "We should advocate the learning methods of spontaneous inquisition, practical experience and cooperative communication integrated with the acceptance of learning method so that the students can experience the process of learning, grasping the basic learning method, having geographical mind and understanding the basic process and means of exploring geographical questions." Cooperative learning in geographic classroom is exactly a better method of learning.Cooperative learning in geographic classroom refers that learning group with 4-8 students will reach the common learning objectives after mutual cooperation and interdependent division in the geographic classroom. Then they test or display their learning outcomes in order to communication. At last, the teachers duly evaluate and reward the students on the basis of groups' learning outcomes.This paper has briefly composed the connotation of cooperative learning in geographic classroom and the relationship with the traditional cooperative learning and inquiring learning in geographic classroom. Meantime, it has posed the meanings and principles of cooperative learning in geographic classroom. It concentrates on analyzing five factors of impacting cooperative learning in geographic classroom. Combined with geography teaching cases, it is proved that teachers should deliberate various factors when they apply the cooperative learning in geographic classroom. It suggests the teachers adopt different cooperation learning methods with other learning methods to meet the diverse teaching needs. It also analyzes some typical problems existed at the present of cooperative learning in geographic classroom. Combined with the teaching practices, it offers some improvement measures.
