The integration of modern information technology and Chinese reading instruction is the basic objective requirement in our educational development. At the same time, it is also the requirement of changing the current situation of Chinese reading instruction. A lot of educate researchers had got a lot of achievements in research of the combination of information technology and Chinese reading instruction. But in this paper, three shortages in related research were presented through observation of practice and analysis of literatures.Firstly, theoretical research lags behind practical research. In academe, the theory basis of application of information technology was intensively researched, which including learning theory, transmission theory and thinking science theory. But the above research was limited to the theory of integration of information technology and basic education, as to the integration of information technology and curriculum, especially the integration with Chinese curriculum lacks concrete and pertinent theory.Secondly, cognition of the function of information technology in Chinese reading instruction is confused. How to understand the function of information technology especially in the esthetical education in Chinese, and how to control the use extent and opportunity of information technology? All this questions are needed to be answered.Thirdly, although with so much instruction practice, but the property of Chinese was neglected, because the function of information in Chinese reading instruction was not considered on the base of Chinese curriculum theory.Aimed at the above three shortage, theoretical research on the integration of modern information technology and Chinese reading instruction was studied based on the theory of Chinese curriculum. The meaning of integration was expounded from the point of correctly understanding of text. The theory foundation of integration of information technology and Chinese reading instruction was perfected , and the vacancy of integration research from the Chinese curriculum theory was studied.
