Abstract: After the foundation of PRC, new China had literated great numbers of illiterates. But many literated people in ethnical areas became illiterate again due to the want of continued reinforcement education. In the meantime, a new situation of society also demands new measures for literacy programs in ethnical areas. How to, therefore, reinforce former literacy education fruits, how to improve the trainees' literacy level and how to maintain and develop ethnical culture within the circumstances become an subject worth researching.Taking into account the inadequacy of continued literacy work, this paper, with its field researches conducted in Mang Jing Village, Hui Min, La Hu Nationality Autonomous County in Lan Cang, Yunnan, presents the overall situation of continued literacy education of people in ethnical areas and offers an analysis of the existant problems. Based on this, applying life-long education theory and multi-culture theory, this paper also attempts to discuss the concept, connotation, purpose, standard, content, form, evaluation, etc of continued literacy education in ethnical areas and, lastly, propose some feasible models and advice so that literacy work research can be enriched in theory and so that science and effectiveness can be added to continued literacy work in practice.The body of the paper is composed of three parts:Part â…  Field Research of the Situation of Continued LiteracyEducation in La Hu Minority Autonomous County in Lan Cang, Yunnan.
