Monitoring capacity of teachers teaching is a core element of a teacher'soverall quality and it is the key to influencing results .The research topic is aimed at improving the monitoring capacity of biology teachers to enhance the quality of teaching and therefore topic has practical meaning.The thesis summarizes the theoretical basis of teachers monitoring capacity:the self-regulatory theory given by Vegosky, the theory of Cognitive structure and the theory of ideological structure . At the same time , it outlines the present status of the research topic:Monitoring capacity is a concept which was raised by Lin Chongde, professor of Beijing Normal University in the 1990s. After this concept was introduced, several donestic psychology experts defined its intension and study its structure,development .training and other aspects. On the basis of some good researches on this topic , combined with the charscteristics of biology ,the thesis selected four biology teachers and nearly 382 Students in eight classes of Kai-yuan No.1 Middle School as targets. The thesis utilized literature method , experimental research, survey and mathematical statistical methods to study the monitoring capacity of these four biology teachers. The results of the study are (1) It analyzes the main features of teachers who the students like or dislike: (2) It investigates the teachers'monitoring capacity; (3) Assessment of the activities helps to improve the teacher's monitoring capacity; (4) Assessment of the activities has a good effect on students'learning ability. According to the findings of the study , the thesis analyses the teachers' own factors and environmental factors which affect the monitoring capacity of biology teachers. Meanwhile it points out the existence of subjective and objective aspects and sums up a series of effective measures to improve the monitoring capacity of secondary school biology teachers:(l) To construct a quality control system;(2) To strengthen the theoretical knowledge , establish modern educational concepts and master scientific teaching methods; (3) To carry out training for teacher's teaching practices so that the teachers can improve their level of...
