Analyze Of Relationship Between Candidates And Supervisors

Postgraduate education is the highest level in education system. The quality of postgraduates is an important symbol in higher education of a university and a Country. In postgraduates' education, the relationship between postgraduates' role and their supervisors' is well related. Role display is depended on social expectation, role players' comprehension about the role and requirements about how to achieve it.This study uses 2 kinds of questionnaires(one for postgraduates, one for supervisors) to collect information. In comparison with postgraduates' and supervisors' role expectation, role comprehension and role play, we learn that there are differences among those three. In this study, we analyze the factors(intrinsic one's and extrinsic ones) that influence relationship between postgraduates and their supervisors, and advance some suggestions.The study suggests that most postgraduates are satisfied with their supervisors, only few are unsatisfied. After further discussion, we know the reason why postgraduates feel their supervisors don't care much about them is that they have to direct many postgraduate at the same time. We also find that there are some differences between supervisors' role comprehension and role play which causes the conflict.From the study, the factors influents the relationship between postgraduates and supervisors varied according to the behavior norms on daily life, moral characters etc.We learn from the study that in order to improve the relationship between postgraduates and supervisors, we need to take some measures. First of all, to take some measures to keep the postgraduates and supervisors on alert, that is to say they should be reminded what should do and what should not do occasionally. And take effective measures in choosing and training supervisors to improve their total quality. Secondly, we should redefine the goal on postgraduates' educating, make the single role expectation diversity, attach more importance to the process of supervise. Lastly, we should give more sovereignty to the colleges. That is to say college should have the right to take some reform according to their own situations.In the end, we advance some further study propositions on this field in the near future.
