The application of new Chinese textbooks in senior high school has renewed the teaching ideas of many teachers .They have begun to explore methods of teaching students to learn initiatively. However , I've found that quite many teachers are not so sure about initiative study ,which they partly think means studying independently by the students themselves. As a matter of fact , the students will study aimlessly if the teachers neither guide them how to study before class nor control students in class. Thus, some so-called new methods will fail to have good results. For that, I put forword a new teaching pattern for Chinese reading , which is"exploring alone , researching together". I believe that the application of the new method will be able to improve the art of learning. The teaching pattern , exploring alone, researching together, used in senior high school is based on the ideas that teachers not only should impart knowledge to students but also should make the students learn how to study. What I want to emphasize is that classroom study should join students'center to teachers'guidance, then the students can fulfill themselves to study actively and creatively. Teachers are more than teachers. They are also helpers and participants for students ; builders for good study atmosphere; instructors for activities; explorers for academic resource. Teachers should play a leading role in designing teaching courses and directing learning methods. Besides, we should respect our students so as to make them develop themselves initiatively so that they can obtain knowledge as well as academic abilities. Only when the students form thehabit of thinking actively and doing things creatively can we achieve our teaching goals .
