Liang Shuming is a very influential scholar and social activist at home and abroad. His life experienced nearly for a century . From the late Qing dynasty to Republic of China, until the establishment of the People's Republic of China, he had nearly something to do with the important matter occurred during this period .It might be said that he was one of the most important witnesses in Chinese modern history. American scholar Ai Joy once said that, "the main question he cared about most is whether the cultural value which Chinese previous dynasties inherites can suit the modernization." His solution was "the village construction", namely ,the realization of the village to help itself through the way of the social education and the construction of the village organization, that's to say, " virtually in order to realize the overall cultural revival". Because Liang Shuming finally regarded education as the sole method of village construction,he carried on the thorough ponder and the exploration to the education question, summarized it unceasingly in the practice, and eventually formed the education thoughts which was characteristic. His analysis about the question of education had both the part and the whole, both the phenomena and the essence. It could be said that Liang Shuming's understanding of the education was from the shallow to the deep, from the perception to the rational process. Earnestly studying Liang Shuming's the thoughts of education, and summarizing its experience and lesson, not only has the certain academic value, but also has the certain practical significance .This paper falls into three parts to conduct the research.Firstly, it elaborated the process of the development and forming of Liang Shuming's educational thoughts.
