The multicultural education is a focused topic in the education area these days, the integration between subject eduction and multiculture eduction has become a tendency. The geography teaching is a indispensable part in the discipline teaching. It's very important to promote comprehensive development of students. The multicultural education in the geography teaching manifests the time request, our country national conditions requests and "Geography Education International Charter" requests. The multicultural education in geography teaching according to the meanings of multicultural education and the understandings of the other disciplines, it bases on geography knowledge, to enable all students to understand some multicultural knowledge, to know the reasons of the differences between us, to raise own multicultural consciousness.According to geography curriculum standards, the main goals of the multicultural education in geography teaching are as the follows: to let the students realize that our country has many different cultures by geography studying, to understand the different cultural phenomenon, to use the others' thinking way to rethink our lives. In order to achieve these goals, the teaching bases on the analysis of the geography teaching characters, the content as the follows: Multicultural knowledge, multicultural skills, multicultural emotion manners and values in geography.There are some ways to make geography teaching contain multicultural education meanings, as the fallows: to enrich the connotations of geography curriculum; to improve the teaching methods as well as to perfect evaluation strategies. So we can according to the targets of the geography curriculum, to use different ways to achieve the targets, such as different teaching plans, different teaching methods and so on.We also should pay some attentions to the problems in the teaching, such as balance of multicultural education and geography teaching; to understand the multi-culture in a reasonable way as well as the different characters of the students. To avoid the misunderstanding of multicultural education, multicultural education displaces geography teaching and to neglect student's individuality characters and so on. Finally to realize the aim multicultural education in the geography teaching.
