Challenges And Countermeasure Study Of College Students' Political Education In The New Age

As a significant part of college education, Political Thought Education runs through the whole process of educational activities. In October 2004, the Party Central Committee and the State Council have issued a Circular on Strengthening and Improving "Political Thought" at Universities, which becomes a programmatic document guiding College Students' Political Education under new situations, and will undoubtedly exert a deep and profound influence on young people in terms of both their health growth and overall development. From now on the prior task for colleges and universities, then, is to seriously study and carry out the spirits of the Circular, to strike while the iron is hot, and to practically strengthen and improve political thoughts of college students.Based on challenges of College Students' Political Education, this thesis holds that political thoughts education must keep up with modern times, keeping its strengthening and improving. What's more important, the paper also brings forward specific countermeasures against those challenges. Characteristic analysis of college students' political thoughts is the starting point and the foreshadowing of the full text. Then full exposition is expounded in five aspects with regard to social environments faced by political education: political situation, economic situation, cultural situation, competition of science & technology, competition for talents. The next chapter deals with challenges of the new age also in five respects such as ideas and contents. Finally, much coverage is given for deep exploration of concrete countermeasures.
